I had a friend long ago that did that, rock crawling.

For me, it is a "spectator" sport......

That looks like the most fun you could have in a Jeep. That and mudding it

Not quite the "most fun" you can have in a Jeep but...

I live in mud central and to tell you the truth I hate it. I agree it is fun but the clean up afterward is not worth it. I have literally had to pull all carpet, pop drain plugs and hose the thing out. It has been almost a year since I was in a mud hole and to this day I can turn on the AC and it will spit mud clods at me.

Not only the clean up but the grit from the mud just wrecks havoc on reciprocating/rotating parts.

Did alot of mud in my yoot and tore up too many good parts. Stuck to off roading after the 1st few seasons. Not alot of rock crawling where we came from in NH.

Looks like a solid set up tho

Man, that would be a fun toy to have! If I wasn't able to get the beetle, my second choice was going to be a jeep wrangler. I would love to take it muddin' or rock climbing! Though rock climbing is a bit scarier....

We don't have any rocks here either. She spends a lot of time on a trailer to where the rocks are.

The Wrangler... you think the Beetle causes obsessive behavior? About being scary, photo five was taken on Hells Gate in Moab Utah. Here is a driver that didn't find the right line in that exact spot.
