Wait, so that's right, you sold the Audi with parts you never paid me for, and bought this...nice, what a scammer, be careful of this guy, everytime he makes a post, I will do so as well to warn people not to ever let him touch their car. Justin, if you ever feel like paying for those parts, you know where to find me, and so does the collection agency I hired to track you down as well.

well, 2010 is gonna start off with a bang.

janie went under the knife on sunday and still hasn't been stitched up yet.

not saying anything yet, but let's just say this latest set of modifications turn her from ashy to classy and from frijo to fuego.

should have most of the work on the inside done tomorrow morning, the outside friday.

left side: new tails. right side: oem tails.

these were a birthday gift from the old man, he scored them for $50 new on ebay. depo m3-style.

janie makes $30 headlights and $50 tails look GOOD.

i installed the tails back on december 8th or 9th i think. notice the cloth doors, those are no longer there.

today, janie and i helped my99vdub and bluenote get their groove back, now blue has tunes again. blue has the ansa catback, i want. i can make it a single tip too...

new built head on, power difference with the giac chip is AMAZING. i'm in love.

also installed a new water pump, t-stat, timing belt, tensioner, and a couple other things.

timing covers still off and drying the final coat of clear, curing in my nice dry furnace room. my painting skills with a rattle can are getting MUCH better. not up to tom's level, but nuch better than even last year.

while i was at it, i ditched the obx header (no cat, too raspy), and installed the factory exhaust manifold back, but ported and flow-checked. to that, there's now the techtonics dual downpipe and high-flow cat combo.

next mod is going to be something inexpensive, cool, and total diy status.

found a paint shop to mix up some hi-temp paint in a certain special color for me...i have NEVER seen it as an accent on a vw, so this should be interesting.

also started sanding/filling/polishing the spare intake manifold as well. didn't get too far before my orbital went kaputz. oh well, i guess that meant i had to do actual work at work.

hopefully finished this weekend if the weather holds.

I may also do chrome moldings, jury is out on those. i'd like to fix the bumpers first (which may negate the bumper moldings anyways), so that may be a down-the-line mod.

well, i got inspired listening to raymondlee talking about cranking it all the way down, so i bought some coilovers.

we're going for 22.5" fender to ground, i'm gonna need some proper wheels.

so, there's been some internal changes, nothing really external at all. i'm pretty set with the exterior i think (for now), but the interior is still in progress.

i picked up some interlagos-style plaid online, i'll be covering the headliner and pillars with it eventually.

i ended up destroying a transmission a few months back, so this time i decided that i was just going to go with a better, stronger unit that would make me pull harder and faster. enter a 20th anniversary 02m unit, freshly peloquin'ed and re-synchro'ed. stole it for $1000, sourced the axles and starter from a pick/pull, and bought an ecs clutch/flywheel kit (ecs gets LOTS of my money, give them yours too! ).

total install was 5.5 hours with a buddy, and that included us pressure washing the underside to get all the gear lube off the frame (man, that stuff was NASTY!). we also installed some new brakes up front too, nothing too fancy, some blauparts oe replacements, but man do they stop. definitely reccommended.

in the 8 months and 5 days since she went on the road, i have amassed 32,316 miles, visited 10 states, had 2 breakdowns (clutch, then trans), and averaged over 31mpg in mixed driving.

i'm on pace to amass 48,000 miles by july 24, i'm shooting for 50,000 though, would be nice to do that again.

i'm sure you've all seen a dirty white mk4 jetta missing its center caps, so yeah, that's what janie looks like right now.

MASSIVE UPDATE!!1!!!111!OMG!!!1!!!

ok, it really is big.

the 2.0 is no longer in the car. that's right, i retired the 373,000 mile block. still running strong, it'll be used in an industrial application.

enter...the first in a long line of custom-built motors from rotors2motors.

i needed something that i could drive 50,000 miles a year, get 35mpg, and perform as well as a vr6. well, that left one option (for me), and i chose to show off what i could do.

enter: battlestar2200. yes, the 2200 stands for cc's.

as some know, i acquired a 1999 beetle tdi for free. the reason: veggie oil sludged and fried the motor. realizing whatever i was about to do would require a rebuild, i decided that it was time to see what i could do with it.

the tdi shares a block with the gasser motors, BUT with one key difference: oil drains and feeds on the block. this was key because i may choose to slap a snail on her later on. with a 79mm bore, i had PLENTY of room to bore her out. already having the stroker crank and rods (both forged), i knew boring this block out would make MASSIVE displacement and power.

i ordered some dished 83mm ABA pistons in 10:1 compression to mate to the forged parts, and went to work. i cleaned up the block to perfection, and shot it with hi-temp black paint. the end result is a block that looks stock, but inside...completely forged internals that will support 600 lb/ft torque and pistons that'll clear any head i want to throw on it.

for now, this motor is using the r2m assassin 8v head, which features +2mm valves, .060" decking, titanium valvetrain, and a techtonics 290+ cam (the exact duration is unknown to everyone except darrell vittone and myself, and was a custom grind for me).

estimated power figures with 30lb/hr injectors, 4bar fpr, 3" exhaust, and the r2m custom header/cat combo is 200hp/180tq. i've only put on 67 miles so far, but WOW...this motor is gonna be fun.

i'm still using the c2 software written for me, it had room to grow, and i still think i can throw more fuel at this combo.

i should have 1000 miles on it by this time next week, i'm hoping to lead the pack with pride on the 11th.

so you put the van gogh on the 2.0 only to yank it out later the next day to put this motor in the car? interesting.
