Default My other cars...

This one's my toy. I've had it since 11/04 when I bought it for $100. It's a 1990 Jetta Carat aka "The Brown Hornet" that started out as a 1.8l automatic. It was a nice rare color called Terra Brown, but the car is a rust magnet so I had some fun with rattle cans..

Specs:
VR6 swap
TT MK2 VR6 Exhaust
Raceland Coilovers
Compomotive TS wheels (16x8)
G60/16v fender flares front and rear.
Recaro Trophy interior that I recovered myself (no good pics)
Corrado G60 front brakes
Single round smoked/fluted/cross hair e-codes
Volvo side repeaters

This one is a 1990 Jetta Coupe GL. I paid $400 for this one with no interior last November. The plan for this car was to eventually swap all of my VR6 stuff from the other car, but as I started working on it, it was turning out to be a REALLY nice driver. So I left it alone. It's a mostly stock 1.8l Automatic and my god is it slow!

Specs:
Big Bumpers, skinny mouldings, side skirts and grille from a 92 Jetta
Weitec GT 40/40 Cup kit
Borbet Type CA wheels (16x7)
Green stripe interior from a GTI

Thanks! The Coupe is a REALLY nice car. It's just painfully slow, especially with the A/C on. If I do anything to it, I think I may swap a 2.0l short block in so I can keep the digifant engine management in there and retain all of the factory accessories. It's a pretty straight forward swap that adds a good bit of power for not a lot of money.

I'm trying to decide what to do with the brown car though. Part of me is attached to it, but the other part says we don't need three cars and I know I could sell it for a decent amount. Arghh!! Decisions decisions!

trade for the brown mk2 if you're up for it.

fair swap, keep the wheels, i like the coupe wheels if that helps.

i love my mk4, but the mk2 itch is KILLING me.

See that's the thing about the brown car... It photographs very well, but it's really no prize. There's nothing much in terms of metal left under the rear flares and I had to use 3M body tape to hold them on. It looks and drives great, but there's a lot of underlying issues with it that need to be mentioned. If you're still interested, what did you have in mind?

As for more pics... I got really lazy with taking decent pictures of the brown car. After I busted my butt sewing new seat covers nearly 3 years ago, I never once took a finished picture of them. Believe that? On top of that, I never scotch guarded them, so they sun faded like crazy and now they need to be redone again.

Here's a shot of the back seat.

This is when the car was still it's original color.

I really LOVED that color, but Ohio winters were really tough on it. Well let me rephrase that. The amount of salt they use here on the most miniscule amount of snow was really rough on it. When you can't get a shine out of it with 3M hand glaze, you know the paint is done.

As for the coupe. I JUST got it looking like it does, so there aren't many pictures of it that are worth showing. I'll show you a before picture so you can see how far it's come though.
