"Roger" 1982 Rabbit
I came across a 1982 2 dr 1.7L 4sp rabbit for sale on Craigslist . I went and looked at it and was rather shocked at how clean it was . For being a Rust belt area car it was really solid. It has some surface rust starting underneath but no rot, Strut towers are good too, I only found a few small spots that would need attention and they are not major. It does need help in the interior department . front seats/ carpet/ headliner. the exterior paint is faded but Im sure a good polish would bring back some of the shine . I happen to look at the Odometer and asked if this was OG miles and the owner said Yes , I about fell over as it is sitting at 44K Miles ! WOOT!!

I have since replaced two front tires as they were both shot, replaced all the dryed out nasty 27 yr old fuel lines and a new filter , also gave Roger a tune up
 . now hes just waiting a new timing belt .

As common and ugly as that color is, i still love it.
 I miss my Rabbit, but i traded for a '99 TDI Beetle and got $500 on top, i think i came out on the good end of the stick for that one. I do miss it though!  And 16vs pull a Rabbit pretty nicely.

YUP!! this was a 2 owner car, first owner past on and his wife drove it very little sold it to the 2nd owner who used it to teach his kids to drive stick, then it was parked as he didnt really need a third car so between the two it seen the inside of a garage alot . It will be a daily driver for me as I need something that doesnt suck alot of gas like my truck though if the weather turns bad thru the winter I will drive the truck.
