Default Take me higher....

I don't have either of these old birds now but they were some of my favorite "other rides". The first was my all-time favorite aircraft, a fun little fixed-wing called a Weedhopper. My last machine was the parachute rig, known as powered parachutes or PPCs. This one was the Sixchuter SR1. This plane was much safer than the old fixed-wing but not near as much fun.

Those look like a whole lotta fun - for you!

You could not get me up in one of those, but I would clap and wave if I ever saw one up in the air.

That looks awesome...What type of altitude would you get?
Last year was the first time I ever sky dove and we were at 10,500'

Do you need a license to operate?

I know people who have flown above 15,000'. On a few occasions I have flown to 6,000' or so to get some nice cloud pics but 99% of the time I would fly my ultralights from fence post high up to maybe 500'. Low level flying was where the fun was. Both of my planes were FAR 103 legal so I didn't need a license. They have changed the laws though. Don't see many true ultralights these days.

Looks like a blast! I always wanted to go up in an ultralight. There are quite a few running around by me. They run up and down the Fox River about the same altitude you like to go.

Nothing else quite like it. You should give it a try one day. Find where they are flying from and go ask someone to give you a spin. UL folks are kind of like NB folks, most of them are good people.

Was just looking at my old logbooks and realized my father taught me to fly 50 years ago. Wow! Where did all the time go?
