Schwing! So the saga is born anew! Kind of....

Sold my 2002 1.8T DYCC Beetle, "Sting", on Saturday the 1st to a new family. And today I drove home my new 2011 Ford Transit Connect XLT truck / van .. thing.
It's classified as a truck by Ford but as you can see, it's clearly a van-like ... thing. Anyway, I love it. It's nearly 8 feet tall, and the headroom in it is AWESOME.
I have almost a foot of spare headroom in it! And 135 cubic feet of storage, dual sliding doors, double rear doors, and it's almost no longer than a Beetle. Just taller.

Anywho.. here he is...

And after much decision making, and Photoshopping, I've decided what to do with him VERY soon.

This!

So, I have plans. Black & Yellow is still my thing, but I have to name him. I *was* thinking of calling him "Bumbles" but someone already took the license plate. So, I'll think of something.

Ugh I really need to find some nice wheels for this thing. But until I do, I need WHEEL COVERS! The ones that are on it are killing me! So ugly!

15" wheel covers... full moon style maybe.. (heads off to search)

Nice Stephen

Can't wait to see the Sting treatment applied on the little fella.

Have you considered "Buzz" as a name?

*chuckle* Van Helsting ... I wish that would fit on a license plate =)

I could always have that stenciled on the back.

For the license plate.. it might say "BUMBLS"

It was sunny out, so pics were in order!

First off, I found out that Ford's color "Panther Black" is more than just black. Much like actual panther fur (hair?)... the black turns to blue.
Also, this "Panther Black" has lots of metal fleck in it, so in the sunlight it's more than just black, it's quite nice

UGH. These wheels and tires need to GO! >_<

The money shot of the day....

It's quite the sexxy little beast really. Now I just need better wheels, and lowering, and paint!

Any my first mod is on the way.. *woot*.

Congrats Stephen! I can't wait to see your finished product. Dash pieces? or Steering wheel spokes? I'd put my $1 bet on dash pieces.

Steering wheel spokes =)
As it turns out, about 1/2 of this van is all parts from a Ford Focus. The engine, automatic gear shift, front shocks, steering wheel, and a couple other random bits and baubles. But since the steering wheel is the same, the little aluminum, painted spoke-inserts fit!

*happy* Now if only the interior wasn't grey, but BLACK, I'd be happier. But I don't know if it's worth having it all dyed / painted. We shall see, maybe it's something I'll do in the future.

Sweet that you can raid the Focus aftermarket parts bin for your Transit! I'm sure you can find some cool stuff there. I'm in the same boat with the gray in my nB. Headliner and dash and door panels for me that should change to Red/Black. Oh yeah, pillar panels and hatch panels too! Oh well, a modders work is never done!

Any luck on wheel covers? Maybe raid the focus bin for those too!
