Default Ford Ranger

My wife and I sold our classic '79 Thunderbird back in September with hopes of buying a second Beetle. We looked at pretty much every one that we found on craigslist that was under $4k and they we're all in terrible condition, so we settled for my second choice- a Ford Ranger. This one is a 1998 with 89k miles, 4cyl stick, very good condition- no rust or dents. I'm going to use it as my commuter vehicle during the winter months so I don't have to drive Sweet Pea in the snow and road salt anymore.

Thanks! It is in exceptionally good shape for being a 1998, there are a few small scratches and door dings on it. I'm going to buy some touch-up paint and cover up the scratches before winter.

I agree with Deb, that looks brand new! Nice little pick me up truck. Super low miles plus a 5 speed and a bed in the back for versatility. Nice find!

Very nice! Those things are indestructible as well.

Thanks Opelmania and emilybrooke! I know these little Rangers will run forever if they're well maintained, that's why most of the auto parts stores use them as delivery vehicles; and it will definitely be a good vehicle to have if we ever need to haul anything. I've already put a coat of wax on it, and bought some touch-up paint(the color is called mocha frost). I'm planning on driving my Bug very sparingly during the winter months, both to avoid the wear and tear of the daily commute in the snow/road salt and to keep the mileage down(she's at 127k right now).

Here are a couple more photos of the Ranger. I detailed it last weekend, and I bought a tonneau cover for the bed to keep the snow out.

I've actually only driven the Ranger a handful of times so far; I love driving my Bug so much that it's hard to go back to driving anything else I will definitely be driving the Ranger for the next several days because Sweet Pea has to go in on Tuesday to get a new inner tie rod end.

Sorry about Sweet Pea -but that Ranger looks amazing! My FIL had a 5-speed Ranger (I don't remember the year off hand) that he sold to my BIL - and when my BIL sold that truck it had over 200k miles on it and was STILL going strong. Those things are 'built to last'!

Thank you This Ranger has just over 90k miles on it now, so hopefully it still has a lot of miles left in it! We took it in for an oil change last week, and the guys at the oil change place said that everything on it is in really good shape

We recently moved, and the Ranger sure came in handy! We didn't have to rent a Uhaul this time
Here's a picture of it from last weekend, right after being waxed.
