PhoenixRising's 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid
So, here's the deal. I go to my local KING TOYOTA Dealership, to get the oil changed in my Prius, and to get a new set of floor mats (TOYOTA may make great cars that last forever, but when it comes to floor mats, they wear out. And I take care of my floor mats!)
While I am waiting for the oil change, Anthony, my dealer (he has sold me three TOYOTA'S; soon four!), comes over, and asks me what I think of the new Cruiser they have. I tell him, it's nice, but not for me. Now, if you have a Camry Hybrid, I would love to see that. And so, he shows me this one...And next thing I know, I'm trading in my '05 SCION XA which only had 10,585 miles on it, so he gave me $12,000 for it. Nice. Now this Camry is a Hybrid, which runs like my Prius, only not as great mileage (still better then a regular one, by far), and it has a combined 192 (or so) HP. It's faster then the Prius, which is not the reason I got it, but is nice. The interior is more like a 'regular' car (gear shift on the floor as opposed to the dash like the Prius), and this tach like device, which is not a tach, but is designed to look like one. What this gauge shows is your MPG as it goes up and down, as the car drives. It moves like a tach... Oh, and when you slow down in this car, it's engineered to sound a little like the Jetsons car, I swear it does... I have not named it yet, and still have not taken any real good pics...but here are two for now. (The name Camry comes from the English phonetic of the Japanese word "kanmuri", which means "crown", so I am trying to think of something that goes with that theme)

You must be a forgiving soul.
Isn't this the same place that nailed you to the wall with the $7000 dealer premium on the Prius?  Anyway, congrats on the new car. I like it much better than the Prius--it looks normal! I have been told that "Camry" was a jumble of "my Car".

Congrats on the new Camry! The peeps we know who own 'em think they are great cars. It may not be as nimble and fun to drive as the Scion, but I think it's got a bigger trunk.
 Speaking of hybrids...we've kicked around the idea of selling my Jetta for an Escape Hybrid for better MPG and more room.  Who knows.

TJ - congrats on dual Hybrid ownership! Love to see some interior pics and what the estimated mileage is. Didn't even know they had a 2nd hybrid in their line up. Knew that Honda had a couple. BTW watch your Smug output (southpark reference  )

I really like that color, and the new Camry H's are pretty slick. Congrats on that, and remember, lots of photos! especially since they are sooo new.

Congrats on the new car! It must be really cool to have the windows down and hear your car slow down while everyone else is trying to hear what their car sounds like speeding up.

another toyota!!!!!!!! and a hot colour too! i'm sooo jealous! it just blows my mind how much better built toyotas and hondas are compared to volkswagens. good choice!

Dear Lord, TJ...I was afraid you got rid of the Prius...yeah, 'toine's right...the Smug Rating at the Maher household must be off the scale these days...
 Nice looking car...much nicer then the Xa, no doubt. Let the modding begin!! And while King Toyota has been difficult, they were really good to TJ when he had the Xb... Congrats, man, love the color! And yes, more reliable than the VW...but while nice, still not the personality of our beloved Pods!!!

My wife thinks I should call this car RC, for Royal Crown, since Camry means Crown.
Not sure I like that one. Here is a better shot, after the new wheels, and tint. ***EDIT*** Just named it...Revelation. In Revelation, there is this cool verse: Rev 3:11 11 "I'm on my way; I'll be there soon. Keep a tight grip on what you have so no one distracts you and steals your crown . " So it works.
