Default Trunk not staying closed?

So my trunk isn't staying closed. I close it and lock the car and just a few moments later the alarm goes off? I turn the car on and notice that the trunk light is dim yet on. Anybody else have this issue? It's really annoying and thus I cannot lock my car otherwise the alarm will go off? Any suggestions, aside from the dealership. I'm not even sure if it'll be covered under the warranty. I have the certified pre owned warranty and I'm sure this falls under an electrical problem of some sorts?

Mine has done this maybe 2 times in the past 3 years. I never did anything to fix it, it just started working again on it's own. Here is a previous thread on it though that might help some.

trunk will not close!

I had the same problem. Remove the trunk hatch interior black plastic piece by unscrewing the screws (found inside of the grip handles) and then pulling the plastic piece off of the trunk lid. A bunch of clips hold the piece in place so pull gently around the edges and they will come out. I then lubed the entire latch mechanism with white litium grease. Have not had any problems with closing since then.

thanks, the dealership says it's still under warranty so I'm taking it up there on Saturday and have them take a look at it. Thanks for the help though, if they try to charge me I may just do it myself by your method.

I have the opposite problem... mine won't open.

If I want to open my hatch, I have to use the key fob and lift the hatch by hand as a press the unlatch button. If I release the button without lifting the hatch, it is open, but I cannot raise the hatch--it is stuck. I can close it by pressing hard downward. Is this a lube issue or an adjustment?

Cheers
