Question '99 Fan Switch Problem

I live in God for Sakin' Florida so it's imparitive to have A/C. Well wouldn't you know it, my fan switch broke as I turned it to start the A/C working in my bug. It's a mechanical issue since the switch kind of stuck and as I tried to work it, it just gave out. The switch still has the reassuring integral level feel but the fan doesn't turn on.

So, my question is, how can I get the dash off so I can look at it / fix it. I'd buy the manual but I can't wait that long to get it fixed. To darn hot!!

If I recall correctly, the two blanks on either end of the emr. switch/ rear def. housing just pry off. Thereshould be a couple of screws to release that whole assembly below the fanswitch housing. Perhaps you can access it from there...

Did you check the fuse??? When mine quit the a/c nor the recirculate light would come on, and sure enough, it was the fuse!
Good luck, Earl

Default Ac/heater fan switch

If the problem is just the fan switch will the AC button lite work or not?

All the time? I'm pretty sure my AC light only comes on if the fan is on.

I think there is a light behind the button that can go out though. Does your recirc light work?

Make sure the vent switch is not turned to defrost setting or towards the top for windsheild only or else the A/C will NOT turn on and the light will be off. The selector switch for the vent must be in any position BUT defrost then the a/c and the light will be on.
