Default Brake Switch Problems

Ok, so I need any advice, I am baffled. So over the 4th I did a couple things to my Beetle. Changed the brake light switch, I also had my radio out so I could install a new center dash piece. After I was done and reconnected the battery and all, the brake light on the dash was lit up, so was the abs light. If I try to drive it, it beeps at me, also maybe unrealted or not, but my outside temp gauge isn't coming on and I can't set the clock time.

Any suggestions? Might something need to be diagnosed with the computer? Did I do something wrong? Any help would be great.

Cheers,

Jeff

I had the same problem with my 98. The cruise would not work, outside temp wouldn't work and the clock kept resetting itself everytime the car was turned off. If you check your fuse panel, the 7.5a fuse is blown. Replaceing it last only a short time. The fix was to take the N.B. to the local dealership and they replaced the brake light switch. Mine was a recall item, yours may also. Call your local dealer and ask.

Default Kinda fixed it

Well I kinda fixed my problems. Yep there were 2 blown fuses, not sure how both of them popped but oh well. I think I have messed of the new switch I bought though. Maybe been pushing it too hard in frustration, it doesn't relly click anymore, so I need to get a new one on monday and try again.

Thanks for the help
