Default VAG305 - VAG / OBDII / CAN Code Reader

Has anyone here used or seen one of these used. I need to find out what the airbag problem in my car is .... and this is 1/2 what I paid for my OBDII reader. I know previous versions of VAGCOM might blow up the airbag controller on 01 models ... I heard the new one may have this fixed.

Well ... the tool is here and can be found for sale on ebay.

That could be it also .... but I would like to know if anyone has used one of these for AirBag and ABS functions ... autotranny doesn't concern me since I have a manual. I have heard Ross Tech "fixed" the problem ... but I still have not heard from anyone if VAGCOM will read the controller and give me the codes causing the light to come on .... or if they just bypass the controller if it is the problematic one.
