You don't have that little white reference card in the fuse box?

Is the DC12V in the trunk also out? One fuse controls the two in the cabin, but the trunk outlet is separate. When mine died it was just the two in the cabin and a single fuse that controlled both -- I forget the rating (I think 20), but it was definitely a blue one. If you don't have an answer by the time I get home I'll post up what I find on my reference card.

Wow...talk about reviving an old thread! I have a similar problem. Every time I plug something into the outlet in the cabin, the fuse blows immediately. Every time. Any ideas?

Does it matter what you plug in? I have an outlet adapter that has an internal problem, and it blows the car's fuses, but other things work right in the car.

maybe it's my phone charger that is causing the problem. I'll change the fuse again and plug something else in and see what happens.

Default same problem

I have an 06 new beetle...same issue this weekend! The owners manual says fuse location 41 controls the power points...but that location in the fuse block is empty! Anyone know which fuse location I should be looking for?

thanks...same one that came with the owners manual...but there was no fuse in location 41. I put a 15a fuse in, but that wasn't the issue.

I found the problem...it was a 20a fuse in position 27! Obviously the fuse block diagram is useless!

Daisy's 3 outlets are not working. I tried plugging in my cell and Nintendo DS in all 3 - nothing. No other problems - not right now, anyway! What do I do?

I have a Bentley for the 05 and 06 Jetta(from the library) and it says the fuses for the cigarette lighter and 12v socket are in the dashboard fuse panel. Is that also true for the 05 NB?

All fuses are in the dashboard fuse panel on the driver side. Am I misunderstanding your question?

The Jetta also has fuse panels in the engine compartment so I was wondering if the fuses for the outlets are in the dashboard fuse panel like the Jetta or in another panel. What do I do now to replace the bad fuse? I can get one at an auto parts store, right?

Yes, just make sure that you get the right one. They are 15A so they are blue.

Thank you!! Anything else I should know before I go to the parts store so I don't sound like an idiot? After I pop off the panel, I just replace the fuse - is it that simple? Any special tools I need?

There is a little tool in your fuse box, kind of like tweezers.. it's easier to pull the fuse out.

I finally got around to replacing the fuse today. It was actually a 20a - number 41, yellow. If everything was this easy on a Beetle....

Agreed. Apparently precision German engineering ends prior to the 'dokumentation' stage. I recently had my aux input fished out of the dashboard, and noticed today that my 12V outlets were dead. I checked fuse position 41. No fuse. Of course, I blamed the service dept. for not replacing it, but after seeing your post I gave #27 a shot, and found the blown fuse.

There is supplemental documentation for the '07 convertible, and buried towards the end is the ubiquitous text: 'several consumers could run over one single fuse.'

Another way of saying 'We had to rewire some of this $%#! at the last minute, but you'll figure that out over time...'
