Default Half Dash Mat - your opinion please

I'm thinking of buying a half dash mat. Does anyone have an opinion about it and would like to share?

Cori

I have one Cori! It's the first thing I bought for JuggBug Here in the Summer it can get up to 124+ and it really helps out with 'sucking up' that heat.

I give them two thumbs up with a snap!

Mine's a full one, but I really enjoy it for the glare reduction. I do a lot of diving against a low-setting/rising sun, so the glare off the dash was killing me before I got the mat. Looks good too!

I have a full dashmat and am asking for a half one for x-mas.... that way in summer I can use the full coverage and then the rest of the rest just cover the half. With the full coverage you lose that cool "industral look" because it covers the section with the "dimples".

Im totally going to get a half one (Im hinting to the family pretty hard lol)

Aura was able to get a light "harvest moon color", I just want a plain black one so it blends in.

I just got a half dash mat for my birthday and I really like it so far. . . it's just plain black and it holds my work parking pass up there better than it did when I did not have the mat. I am normally not a fan of dash mats but the half is great! 2 from me

Cool

I have a full dash mat, but I think the half-mat would look great. My mat is composed of a loop-piled material which means I can velcro all sorts of stuff all over it. I have a naked troll holding a surf board velcro-ed by the feet to the front of my dash (I get the weirdest looks)...

That's a neat idea, Alan. BTW, is the naked troll anatomically correct?

I seem to remember aomeone, Marvin's Dad?, has a how to thread about making dash covers, mats from carpet samples/ remenants? You might try there for an inexpensive alternative, to see if you like the look.

If your question is in reference to my post, I bought mine from the dealer when new. Some material used for pads have loop fabric and some do not (but nothing special). Just take something you have that's Velcro and apply the "hooky" end to the sample. If it sticks...voila! If not, keep lookin'...

So far I've only see TVA's, but I'll check out Antoine's thread and other sites first. Thanks everyone. The velcro idea is cool. Then maybe my little Soldier Bear and Ted the Bear would actually stay on the dash.
