Default Closing the vents? No way?

Say, are the vents just open all the time on these cars and there's no way to close them off? Seems like there's always air coming thru the vents, even when the fan's completely off, so you have to regulate how open it is to control the amount of heat/coolness. Is this correct?

When I shut mine they stay shut. Can't say I've seen this problem.

There is a little horizontal wheelie ... this controls how open or closed the vents are. Hard to explain without a picture ... hrmmmmm.

I hope this answered your question. ??

Oh, okay, I knew that. That's for direct air on the person and for the A/C. Sorry, it seemed like such a stupid question, but I was really wondering about the vent for "heat at the feet" and the window defroster. Those seem to always be "open" on my car---or am I somehow wrong?

lol. Oh. Ok.

Yeah. Those dang vents. They would be nice to close ... mine always seem to be blowing HOT air unless the A/C is on.

the air coming thru there is just residual flow from the engine compartment coming thru your AC system vent. if you turn the AC and Heater off all the way, but leave the recirculate button pressed in, it closes the system vent and no hot air comes thru.
