Default Fuel indicater

Today I noticed that while my car is running, the arrow is not pointing to 1/1 (full tank), like it should, but actually pointing down, just a tiny bit to the right of the fuel tank symbol. When my car isn't running, the arrow circles back around and stops at the mark for about 1/4 a tank. Does anyone know what's wrong?

The only thing I could figure that it's a little off, and that the arrow goes a little past the full mark when the tank is full, and doesn't go quite to the empty mark even if the tank is empty. Does that make sense?

Last post I read with a fuel gauge issue ended up being a bad cluster.

I think you are on the right track. I bumped the speedo needle when installing my metal cluster trim, and had to push the needle down a little to make it realign with the marks. You could CAREFULLY take off the speedo glass and just give the needle a bump up (or down if off) to set it back on the marks and see what happens from there. Beats the cluster replacement cost
