Default Outside temp sensor

Hi,
My wife just got a new 06 beetle. One little problem we noticed, is that the outside temperature sensor, next to the clock, is not displaying anything. It lights up blue etc. but has nothing on the display at all. The clock does display.

I assume it's just the temperature sensor disconnected. Am I right? Also, where is the temperature sensor?

Thanks.
Daniel

I have heard of this happening before, usually after the battery has been disconnected. The sensor on the older body style was behind the grille on the drivers side in line with the tire. Good luck with that problem. Mine worked fine but when I bought my car the sender was wrapped up in the power steering triangle cooler piping, I put it back where it was supposed to be.

Since your NB is the '06, I would make the dealer fix this. Good luck!

I was just going to say, Hey! It's NEW! Take it back to the dealer and let them diagnose what is wrong and answer your questions, but dyned beat me to it.

Before you spend half your day at the dealership, just make sure there is a wire attached to the sensor.. under the front bumper. Hate to see someone waste time at a dealership for something as simple as a disconnected wire.
