Twice on Monday I sat down in my car and as soon as my rear hit the seat, the trunk popped open. Is that the craziest thing you've ever heard? I had to get out and close the trunk.
Also on the same day, a couple times when I'd close the door, the window didn't roll back up that half-inch that it's supposed to roll-up on its own. (This actually happened again back in the summer and I didn't realize it, and my car got flooded with rain. Dealership said they "adjusted" the window, but now it's doing it again. Not all the time, but as I learned before, it only takes one time to make your car a smelly mold bucket forever). Anyway -- anyone ever had the trunk thing happen? I'm going to take the car back to the dealership soon (still under warranty) because of the window thing, but the trunk thing is weird. I think the car is possessed. |

That is very very weird.
And I have no clue what you're talking about with the windows? They are supposed to roll up on their own???

I have a convertible as well, and also experience the windows occasionally not closing after shutting the door. It only happens rarely, and I've brought it to the dealer multiple times, but they have no solution. They claim that VW is aware of the issue, but has no fix for it yet.
The workaround is to "reset" the windows. When this happens, use the large "global" window switch, and open all windows, and keep holding it open for 30 seconds. Then close the windows using the same switch and keep holding it close for 30 seconds. You can verify that it worked by opening/closing the driver window by using the auto up/down feature. (When the window is stuck 1" down, the auto feature doesn't function.) Just make sure that the dealer has a written record that you've complained about this issue, in case VW ever gets off their ass and comes up with a solution. |

while I don't have a vert. I do have a standard Coupe beetle.
And this happens on my hatch also. I want to say it's te linkage that attaches to the latch that needs adjustment. But since I have not figured out why my trunk does this, I can't say. Mine happens anytime there is a sudden enough of a jar/jolt that pops the latch that holds the trunk in place. IT has happend with the doors shutting, hitting solid pot holes, and ppl sitting in my car. I've grown tired of taking my trunk apart to try to fix the issue. So any insight on the solution of this problem would be appreciated. I too wish it was as easy as the "missing remote key" theory. IF there was one in my seat I would be sure to dig it out! My car was used and I only got one remote key :P |
