2 problems

Okay well I have an 03' GL Beetle and my glove box handle broke. Does anyone know where I could get a new one at a good price. The dealer is asking 180. I think that is ridiculous.
Second problem, this is my second x-mas with my beetle and for some reason when it is cold my car wont start. The lights and radio turn on but it wont crank. Any ideas? Thanks for your help. Happy Holidays.

yes, get the glove box at any online retailer specializing in vw parts, there's many. try germanautoparts.com for a start.

weak battery? make sure the lights, radio, seat heaters are all turned off when you go to turn the key. [reduce the drain so that it can focus all the energy on the starter]

If it's the original battery get a new one. They only last about 4-5 years. I got mine at walmart.

I'd like to know what you use to get 4-5 years out of a battery. I change mine the first winter I had the car ... bought at 23 months old and it had a few accidents before I got it ... so it was OEM style but may not have been OEM. My sears battery lasted I think it was 11 months, we are now at 12 months since that one was replaced (under full warranty) and all is well ......... knock on wood.

I don't know what was in originally. I've had him since new and only a year ago had to put a new one in. He's garage kept so I'm sure that helps Hubby went to walmart for the new one. I'll try to check tomorrow to see which one he got.
