look around in the mechanical section of the org and see if you can find anything by using the search tool. hope you can find some info to help remedy this maple syrup smell. check out the old forums, too, lots of info on it as well

Oh, no, there's no problems with your car, it must just be from Canada.

Sweet maple syrup, smokey Canadian bacon. Mmmmmm

I smelled waffles when I came home today. Would you mind parking it in my kitchen?

But seriously, I hope it's an easy and inexpensive fix for you!

If you notice coolant loss, it is the heater core, I blew one in my last Dub ... about a year before the recall ... 1985 car, and in another car, I know the smell. If that isn't it, it could be time to change your cabin filter.

I don't know if you ever identified the problem, but if you park the car outside, you may have mice. We had a terrible problem...they had gotten behind the dash and nested (and pooped) and it had that maple syrup tangy smell. Kind of makes you rethink the whole waffle/pancake experience...

The repair shop still uses our story to warn people about mice...they got tons of stuff out before they were finished (and charged us a bunch, too).
