Angry Malfunction Indicator Lamp

Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL)stays on. Is there anything I can check rather than going to a dealer 100 miles away?

Well... do you have any symptoms?

We need a lil' more to go on than "the MIL is on".

There's thousands of things you could check; but 99.9% of them will check out just fine. Let's try to narrow it down some more.

Give us Codes .... If you do not have or do not know anyone that has an OBDII scanner, try to find and AutoZone to have them read .... they usually charge as much as $120 less than the dealer .... becuase they do it for FREE.

Have you tanked up with gas recently. If you do not turn the gas cap until it clicks, the MIL will appear on your cluster.
