Exclamation Need Help with Rear Brakes Quickly

I had to replace a hub on my wife's 01 New Beetle so, while I was into it, I decided to replace the rear brake pads and rotor. Upon reassembling, I ran into a problem on not getting the piston to retract. I have never had a problem on any other car. I even tried opening the bleeder a bit to see if I could release some pressure. I need to get this together today, anyone have any ideas?

Not 100% sure since I havent done the brakes on mine yet. But I think the pistons on these calipers turn back in.
Screw in piston by turning knurled wheel of special tool 3272 clockwise, do not damage protective cap when doing this.

Note: Install special tool 3272 so that the collar (arrow) of the tool is seated on the brake caliper.
If the piston is difficult to move, use a 13 mm (.512 in.) AF open end wrench on the flats (arrow A) provided for this purpose.
If the piston is pushed back with a piston resetting tool the automatic adjustment in the brake caliper will be destroyed

You need a special tool to reset the calipers on the rear, if you do it incorrectly you will break the parking brake funtion of the caliper. You may be able to find a rental kit at stores like AutoZone ... and if you hang with any other MKIV Dubbers, one of them may have the tool you need. I have the metalnerd tool that you can get here http://www.metalnerd.com/cat08.htm

Or take your time; be VERY careful not to tear the rubber boot; and use some channel lock pliers. Good luck; it's gonna take you a while.

Yes, you need that special calipher tool to get the rear brake pads on. I was able to borrow one from Canadian Tire, for a returnable deposit. No cost, once returned.

Thanks all. Due to the bad weather I wasn't able to get out and get the right tool, but the channel lock idea worked. The parking brakes still seem to work so I don't think I did any damage. Though they are extremely tight now. Is there a cable adjustment anywhere? The rear brakes were worn pretty good. I screwed in the pad as far as I could get it. I did notice that the driver side rear did not release real good before I started with the brake job. I may have a caliper going bad.
