Yea... I couldn't see a dang thing under there. I only saw plugs for the fogs.

On mine at least it's on the driver's side, just inboard from the outer corner of the grill. It's a round probe attached to a square bracket. I think you can see it in this picture:

So I thought I should update this...

I didn't do anything about it. It just turned itself off one day. Gotta love the weird quirks these Beetles have sometimes.
