I havent seen this type of mirror switch before this is off a Vortex bug ... whats the extra Icon for or Do ??

That's a passat switch and that location actually makes the mirrors electronically fold in.


It's swappable with the non foldable mirror mk4's, and i think vw actually superceded the part number so that's actually the only type you can buy now.

That location donest really do anything, but it's a nice stop if you dont want the red line facing you while your driving at night , and the knob also twists a full 360 degrees now.

I should know, i bought one just like that from a vw dealer when mine finally broke after almost 3 years of ownership and never breaking a switch.

I also like how they tried to pry off that part of the door panel and totally scrathcing the paint under it when they had to replace it. That part does NOT come out without taking the whole panel off. the tabs that keep it in place are in back, and that whole door handle assembly is screwed down to the door panel. Just FYI

I noticed that too poor bug.

So the switch is for flying somewhat!

I saw that same switch in a 2000 tdi. I thought it controlled the rearview mirror, never gave it much thought.
