Default Door lock sensor

My driver side door lock sensor is going nutz!

It can decide whether or not to say the door is open or shut. making my curtesy lights come on and off incessantly, when I am driving. Very annoying too to here the chime go off because it thinks the door is open when the key is still in the ignition.

At anyrate I'm needing a Part number for this part, so I can get it online. Hopefully for cheaper than what my VW wants for it. $175 :P Oh but the passenger is cheaper at $132. VW logic, gotta love it!

Any idea what the part number is for this part?

oh! haha, my apologies, I read that post and although I am very interested in ONLY spending $3 to fix my car I can't handle the downtime of my car to get it done.

I totally missed the part number you provided. In that post, thanks a bunch.

It doesn't take all that long.. and if you have to you can drive the car with the inside door panel off. (You do need the latch, though). Really, the longest part is getting the holes the right size to line up with the holes in the new switch. I can't imagine anybody needing their car *that* bad...

If you are moderatley mechanically inclined, it's not too bad of a repair. If you go with a new latch assembly, you've still got to remove the door panels and old latch.

On the other hand.. you have four fingers and a thumb. I am guessing you are not under warranty still.. so if you don't mind paying the dealer labor rate...

Can't help you with a specific part number.. not in the Bently manual. It's called "Door Lock Assembly" if that helps ya any.

Or you can check out this thread on the Vortex...http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1015107
