Unhappy please help... kind of a dumb question

I know this is prolly stupid of me to ask but no one in my family has ever had a NB before. My little remote door thing (the 1 the key comes on) is dead... i tried my spare and it works fine so its clearly my main key. and this is the dumb part. Do i need to get a new key thing or can i bring it to the dealership and get a new batterie. I really can't find how to open it so thats why i ask. and if u know how much the batteries cost id love it if you could tell me that too...thanks in advance.

They say a picture's worth 1000 words, sooo here's 3000 words.

I know the 2001+ keys are differnt looking, but they come apart the same. and they also have a bigger battery.
