Hi, All,
We just purchased a brand new 2007 New Beetle (2.5L, normal gas) 2 days ago. Every morning (or whenever the engine is cold) when we started the car, the engine produced high rpm. In the rpm meter it reads 1500-2000 rpm. And it will keep like that for about 20-25 seconds. On the same time it makes some noise (you can imagine the noise with engine running at 1500 rpm). After 30 seconds the engine goes back to nomal, about 600 rpm. Is this normal for a brand new New Beetle? Thanks, Helen & Michael |

our manual says wait 1-2 mins before, and then a 1 minute cool down in park or stopped, before shutting off key
