Default rattle under the hood

When I start the car I can hear a really loud rattle. After the car has been on for about 30 seconds, it gets a little softer but doesnt go away. It's really annoying! Any ideas?

Next time you start the car, get someone to look under the bonnet while you start the car to try and locate the source of the rattle - could be one of a hundred things !!!
