Default no alarm/windows/hatch/interior lights

i have a 2003 new beetle and i bought some LED lights for the door lights.. well upon checking the polarity of the sides i didn't notice my meter was on current measuring and not voltage which basically shorted the light out. so now.. almost nothing works. The inside lights don't turn on when the door is opened, ALL the buttons on the remote don't work, it acts as if it doesn't even recognize the remote. the windows don't go up, the fuel door does open and the trunk doesnt. uh.. HELP.

i forgot to mention, the chime does work when the key is in the ignition so im not sure if its the door switch. and i checked the two 15 amp fuses way in the back of the fuse box (behind the alarm module) they both were fine, i also checked the 30 amp fuse which looks like a circuit breaker, its fine. checked the alarm fuse too, and for some ironic reason, when i lock the car from the inside.... a second later it unlocks itself.
