Default Not Beeping When Locking, Not Electonically Locking Hood

Blahhhhh. Everything's been fine with Blu, I popped the hood at school the other day to armor-all and clean the plastic in between the windshield and the hood, pull a couple leaves out, etc. I put it back down, didn't touch or knock loose anything inside.

You know how the hood locks completely? It is only locked down so you can see the handle to open it sticking out a little. If I try to push it down any more than it is (to the proper position where the electronic lock keeps it) it gives me a pissed off little horn beep. I leaned against it for a good 2 minutes, and when I got up, the alarm started going off! Good grief.

At the same time, it's also not chirping when I lock the doors- either with the key or the remote- only when I unlock them, then it chirps twice. As I mentioned above, the alarm is still enabled though. :P

I disconnected and reconnected the battery to reset the system, it's still (not) doing it, though.

I have replaced the batteries in the remote and the key is new.

Should I reset/reprogram the remote? The not chirping when I lock it doesn't bother me, but I would prefer the hood to lock properly.

To my knowledge, the only approved method of closing the hood is to drop it from one foot height. If you do something else you might do no good to the locking mechanism. I know I flinch when someone ese closes my hood incorrectly, but I am a little protective of the car in general. Not sure about the alarm stuff, but mine does beep 'locked' only after the doors and the hatch and hood are all closed/dropped.

if you hear the door pins click but no beep, it thinks something is open, and from what your saying its your hood, open the hood and make sure the little rubber stoppers arent out too far preventing it from closing. if thats not it, check to make sure the release cable from the cab of the car to the hood isnt stuck or snapped

when my engine hood didn't latch correctly, my lock wouldn't beep when i lock it with my key fob. after i had the hood fixed, it started beeping again. as long as the locks are going down it should be ok, but i'd be sure your hood is closed snug.
