Blinking Temp & Clock first 10 minutes of drive?

Hi All,

I have the following problems since about 3 weeks.

On an NBC 2004 model, the blue light behind the clock & temperature is blinking. This happens in the following sequence

The strange is the following
1. it seems to happen only when the car is still 'cold', meaning during the first 10 to 15 minutes of the ride.
2. after 10 to 15 minutes of on/off/ blinking of both the clock & outside temperature, the blue light stays on.
3. first I thought it was related to the freezing temperature indication (little asteriks) but it has nothing to do with that. it also happens when driving around in 15° Celcius.. so it is not related to the freezing temp
4. it looks like it is related to the revs of the (cold) engine. When I rev the engine a higher the lights seems to stay on..

Very weird ?

Does anybody has seen this ? And would could be the reason?

The other question: is it easy to remove the clock & temp gauge ? How do you remove this ? ( just wondering if it might be a loose contact in there?
