Engine Light, Temp Display, CD Player??? HELP SNOW BEETLE

Recently snow beetle is a bit sick... first things first... my outside temp display was going all weird, -48 when it was raining and such.. now it just reads ----... shortly after it started this.. i also got an engine light.. which also came with a blown headlight...
first question:
will either a blown head light, or busted outside temp gauge throw an engine code??

Also during this period cd player stopped working.. i replaced with new cd player and this doesnt work.. ive been told a speaker is shorting out so the cd player wont turn on.. any idea what speaker to start with????

Replacing the CD player can play havoc with electrical items totally unrelated. Apparently the factory radio/CD setup is an integral part of the car - remove and replace with an aftermarket model and you throw the ECU off balance. Do a search on this and see what you can find.

i received the car with the cd player installed like that... and only recently did the cd player start to mess up... it also these things did not all happen at the same time.. the cd player went.... then a couple weeks later the headlight and outside temp gauge....
