Exclamation Help! Need Ignition Switch Wiring Diagram!

Hello everyone,

New member here. Recently purchased my first Beetle. However, somebody tried to steal it. They broke the ignition column and unplugged the electrical plug in back of the ignition switch. They also pulled all of the wires out of the black plastic plug in an attempt to "hotwire" it. I need to put the wires (with the spade connectors) back into the black plastic plug correctly, so that I can connect it back to the ignition switch. Does anyone have a wiring diagram or chart to tell me which wire goes in which slot of the plug? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance, Alex.

G'Day, cannot give you a diagram but my manual says that RED goes to 30 (twice), RED/BLACK goes to 50b, and BLACK goes to 15.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Hako........I appreciate the info. That helps, but I have a total of 6 wires to re-connect. Is that all that the manual shows?.........just those 4 wires?

Thanks again, Alex.

Cool

"Post #12, on what I now affectionately call "Toad's Thread", shows the backside of the ignition switch with some very toasted wires attached. Hope this helps...

Electrical system died overnight
