My battery died today, i got a jump start and drove it to Sears to get a new battery installed. As I was driving home I realized my gas gauge was pointing at the fuel pump picture (the very bottom of the gauge). When I turn the car off, the gauge reads around 1/2 a tank when it should go to E. As soon as I restart, it's back to the 6 o'clock position at the bottom of the dial.
I've read in other forums to restart the engine a few times -- I have done this with no luck. I do not know if the gauge was messed up after the jump start or after the new battery. Has anyone experienced this? Or have any advice? ![]() |
