Default Need carfax report on possible beetle deal

Hi folks- I need a carfax report on what seems like a rather suspect offer (seller has specific payment site in mind, etc.). We are only going to do deal in person if at all, but would like to know the background on the car too. VIN is 3VWCP21C42M459624
Thanks!
ollie

You should subscribe to CARFAX, then.

If it's one of those 'the car is in a shipping container ready to ship as soon as the payment clears' or 'ebay motors is handling the transaction', it's a scam.

didn't occur to me- sorry chris. I knew I had seen several dozen similar posts between here and the vortex.
The seller says he is military and shipping out, car will supposedly ship free within continental US (I assume through some Army program?). Anyway, he's only an hour north of us, so we could just pick it up and pay in person if he agrees to do so. Carfax itself always struck me as odd- seems like info/service that should be free through the DMV- not in the hands of some private company- kinda creepy.

Ollie-i'd recommend you stay far away from this deal, unless you can do it all in person...

specific payment site is sketchy enough, but the Army shipping a car for free (after it's sold) throughout the Continental US? complete BS.

my 2 cents.
