Default fuse box location?

Sorry for the totally newbie NB question. My 12 volt cig. lighter outlets all stopped working this AM. Looked under the drivers side dash -- I give up, where is the fuse box located for small 10A - 20A fuses? I found the big fuses on top of the battery, but not sure where the smaller ones are hiding???

Thanks!

Chuck

Open the drivers door and look for the small door on the side of the dash. Your key will fit the notch perfectly to open the door to the fuse panel.

I have the same problem with neither of my cigarette lighter/power sockets working, they didnt work when I bought my beetle, and I have since found that there is no fuse in the place where it needs to be so I was wondering what size fuse needed to go there? I haven't found it written anywhere in the owners manual. I have a 2001 1.8L turbo NB

It's a 15amp fuse.
Toad was nice enough to post all the fuses on my earlier thread of 'missing fuses questions'
