2000 Beetle ,Speedometer needle just started bouncing around.
Demons ?.. What might this be ??

define bouncing...? Like it still moves with the speed it just sways back and forth and is inaccurate or it doesn't move at all and just vibrates against the stop when you hit a bump...

Yes..Say Im going 60 the needle will drop down 5 mph or so then go back up.

It could be the speed sensor. I don't know how to inspect or replace it, but that would be my best guess.

I agree... sounds like a sensor or maybe just a bad connection somewhere... anyone know where the sensor is? Wish I was more help! But I'm still learning my way around my vw...

ask me about a saturn though and I've got ya covered lol...
