Default Mirror Switch Problem

I finally figured out how to replace the mirror switch on my 2001 beetle thanks to all the help from the members but, the darned thing still doesn't work. It all started when the knob broke off while I was trying to adjust (sounds familiar so far right!). I was able to get the door panel off and replaced the switch with one from the dealer. That one didn't work so, went back this morning and tried another new one - pulled the wiring thru the open hole where the switch goes so I could just snap the new one in with the door assembled. It didn't work either. The parts guy suggested checking fuses - did that - all of them! No joy! Not a peep out of the thing. It doesn't seem to be getting any power - the light doesn't even come on with the headlights on and/or the ignition switch on. Sounds like wiring but, I have moved the accessible wiring inside the door around without any sign of life. Any suggestions out there?

Fred

The only fuse that has to be with the mirror switch is S5 (Fuse 5 in fuse holder), but u already cheked all of them, so i guess that's not the problem.

Probably it is the door control module (driver side).

do you have a tester to check the harness??
