Default How to turn off foglight?

I just purchased a new beetle and I'm unfamiliar with the way the lights work. I see the light knob has 3 positions, off, on low beams and on beams and when pulled out in high the fog light comes on. However I'm finding that the fog light comes on even when its pressed in on low beams. If i press it in further the fog light indicator goes off for a second but then back on. Has anyone else this problem or can anyone help me as I don't want to dazzle other drivers! P.s it's european, I think there's different light settings on others

If i'm reading you correctly, you have a euro light switch.

The switch does not control the brightness of the lights- that's controlled on your wiper stalk. The switch only controls the lights, fog lights and if your bug is wired to, the rear fog lights. The dim headlights should only be burning when your fogs are on. when you switch to your brights, the fogs will cut off, so you won't blind anyone.

With all that being said, are you still having a problem? you have me curious.

Can you post up a picture of your headlight switch so we can see what you mean?

Yep, just want to see a picture to verify.

To the OP: The original post is a little confusing, BTW.
