My car doesn't drive the same...

Recently when I got my car fixed from it overheating in January... it drived fine, it felt a little different, but still drove good. Recently I felt my car drives slower now...I have to really press on the pedal to go faster, instead of that light touch. So I took it to a shop that works on every cars, including VW, and the mechanic drove it around somewhere and came back, and said the transmission is fine, he didn't feel anything wrong. I was assueming I was low on transmission fluid or something thats why I brought it in. So he said not to worry. But I do feel like something is wrong with my car. I'm not sure what it is, but I'm not as happy as I was when I used to drive it. Any thoughts? The car has 135k miles btw.

Is your CEL on? Does it go fine up till a certain speed or rpm?
