Question Opening the hatchback with the remote. And another thing about the remote.

I have two remotes and the same problem with both, so I'm pretty sure the problem isn't the remote.

OTOH, I'm not so sure whether I'm doing it wrong in some way.

1) Everything works just fine when it comes to locking and unlocking the side doors.

2) Since I got the car a little over a week ago, I often had to try a few times before getting the hatchback to unlock with me standing behind the car.

3) Yesterday I couldn't get the hatchback to open at all with the remote, but it did just fine with the switch inside the car. When I got home I tried the other remote and had the same problem, so I figured there was something wrong with the receiver in the car.

4) This morning (incidentally a much colder and wetter day), I tried again and the hatchback popped right open just as I would like it to. However, upon repeating it got sticky again.

So any ideas what's going on? Am I not standing close enough or something?

I also noticed for the first time a red LED on the remote. What is it?

Thanks.

I don't know how the newer NBs are but I know on the older ones, you have to hold the hatch button for about 3 seconds before it opens. I thought my remote had a bad trunk button because I couldn't get it to open. Then I found a handy thread on here that told me the secret and its worked fine ever since.

Not sure about the LED. I don't have one on my remote.

I bet that's it. I'll know for sure tomorrow. Thanks.

Yes. Just a question of holding it down a bit.

Glad you got it sorted out. It took me probably a year or 2 until I found that out on here. I just went under the assumption that the key fob was messed up.
