I am considering buring a 2000 Beetle with the 1.8 Turbo with approx 100k on the odometer. Besides looking at the maintenance history, is there any areas with this year and model I need to be concerned about? I would appreciate any feedback you can provide. Thanks.

The water pump! Be sure the timing belt, tensioner, and water pump get changed. Best to get a water pump with the metal impeller, and not the plastic impeller. Check the vacuum hoses, and throttle body.

Thanks for the reply. Should I be concerned with the turbo or is it pretty reliable?
