Trouble closing driver's side door
With my 2000 TDI: This started off as once in a while, and it has progressively gotten worse. Close the door... it doesn't latch. Try again harder... still just bounces back open. Then after a couple of good SLAM! efforts, it will eventually close. Of course it seems that eventually it won't. I've tried WD40. Any other possible DIY fix?

Off the top of my head I would say that the door latch and the door latch catch are not aligned properly.
