I recently traded in my 2000 1.8l Turbo for a 2005 GLS because of the mileage was getting up there and I commute so I wanted something I knew would be reliable.
However...I'm beginning to think I really didn't upgrade because my new Beetle doesn't have nearly the power the Turbo does! I expected that to some degree, but is it normal for the GLS to be revving to close to 4000 RPMs on the highway? Like around 72 mph? It sounds like it's working really hard and I'm worried about wearing the engine out or burning it up because I drive close to 100 miles a day for work. Is this normal? Any suggestions? Thanks! |
