Question Need help changing headlight

My passenger headlight went out and I made a plan of replacing the bulb myself over the weekend. Needless to say, it was a big Fail.

All of the guides that I have looked at said to pull on the lever release on the side of the unit, push the back of the headlight and it should come right out. I did that.. and pushed so hard that the entire car moved, the headlight unit won't budge. I have an '04 GLS, so not sure if there's some special fancy detail that was overlooked that I need to do?

Are you sure that the lever is in tact? I know mine was broken, and its a pretty common thing to have happen since its made of plastic. My local shop had to get in my car with a screwdriver to get things unlatched.

The lever seemed to work fine. I was able to push it all of the way up with no problem. When I did that, the headlight unit made a slight pop, as though it had been released.. but it wasn't going anywhere.

You aso might need to get under the seal outside. I know mine was pretty stuck on.

Not sure you accomplished the removal yet. But if not, make sure you also release the strap that is located just above the plastic latch. The metal staping surrounds the headlight like a belt.
