Default ABS light 1999 Beetle - no fault code

My abs light came on today,I turned off the engine and started it back up with no abs light. I began driving and it came back on. I checked and there are no fault codes? Does anyone know what it could be?

11/4/09 I added a little brake fuluid to the max level, put the hand break on and moved forward slightly, had an underbody wash, drove 100 miles and the light is gone....so right now I'm not sue which one took care of it or if none at all....

2/13/10 Well the light came back on a couple of days after my last post. I put the hand break on and drove forward a few feet........off went the light and here it is February and no light.....thank goodness.

mine's been doing the same thing for a while now (on, off, on, off, on, on - no rhyme or reason) but my car has a code - 00287 ABS wheel speed sensor, rear right - I haven't had it checked any further than having the code read yet (no job, no funds, being really careful driving/braking)
