Shift From Park
My wife recently purchased a 2003 New Beetle with 58k on the odometer and it seems to have an issue with the shift lever. On cold days (below 30 degrees F) she can't shift from 'park' to 'drive' without waiting about 10 minutes with the engine running. Has anyone ever run into this problem with their beetle? Thanks.

I'm not sure how the temperature would play into it, but I would suspect a faulty brake light switch. There have been a couple of recalls for the switches so you might want to call your dealer, give them the VIN and see if the recall has been done. Or, the switches are cheap enough that you could just do it yourself.
