Yes Michelle, thanks for a great writeup!

Cup is a 2000 and it seemed too hard trying to remove the grill. I took it on Antione's advisement:

Quote:
Just a note - Pre mid 2000 models still require the old method of taking off the bottom skid and possibly removing the front end. That's just because the grill can't be removed the same way from what I recall.
So I went this route, which was fairly simple:
Jacked up my bug- which ever side your bulb needs replacing
Removed skid liner
Accessed the fog light assembly/housing- everything was at my grasp.
Removing the bulb clip was done using needle-nosed pliers.

Worked like a charm

Your how-to was a great refrence though- thanks

Nice DIY Michelle, excellent pics.

My first attempt at fog light repair (the wife's NB) was as you described; unfortunately when I tried to pull the spoiler off I used to much force and snapped the tabs off. So for those "manly" ORG'ers, take care when pulling out the spoiler.

Oh yeah, there are 2 different types of mounting. So some NBs you can't do that trick with, you'll break the upper fog light mounts.

So everyone, LOOK BEFORE YOU PULL, that DIY does not apply to every car.

Ditto, my '98 and '99 cannot be done using Michelle's DIY as the two upper fog light mount screws go through a tab that is part or the upper nose.

I have a 2000 NB GLX built in April of 2000. Do I need to take the entire bumper off in order to change the Fog light bulbs? Only the driver side fog light is burned out. It also seems that the lower mounting must be missing because I can push on it and it goes back. I will have to put the car on ramps and take a look. Starting what year did they start putting in the new and improved grills?

Look up at post #3 and follow what ScarabY2K did. Use a black zip tie to hold the bottom down. It will mostly be hidden in the black mesh.
