Door damper bolt? Help!

So today the front driver door refused to close.

Upon investigation it looks as though a bolt has broken and the alignment between the 2 parts is causing the issue. I grabbed onto it with a pair of vice grips and was able to close the door, but I need the permanent fix.

Where would I find this bolt and how do I get it back in?

VW parts department will have this bolt... It can't cost very much at all. I would try and determine why the bolt broke off in the first place or you might just have it happen again doing even more damage. JK

Haven't heard of a check strap breaking before.

I check the passenger side and its broken as well......

The strap pulls out fine with a pair of vice grips.

Im just wondering if I get a bolt from the dealer how can I get it back in, I think it will not be an easy job.

suggestions?
