The transmission on my 2004 NB Convertible has been shifting hard lately. There is an intermittent "clunk" when changing gears when it upshifts and/or down****s. Had it in for diagnostics today and was told it needs a new "valve" on the tranny (workorder/receipt does not specify what the needed repair is) at a cost of $2,900.00. Like the toothache that disappears on the way to the dentist's office, the problem didn't present itself when the tech test drove the car when I brought it in.
Any similar experiences out there? Does this sound reasonable, or more like a make work/money attempt? Any suggestions? |
